NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Joseph Morin, 89, of North Adams died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, while in his daughter's arms.

Born in North Adams on Feb. 5, 1926, son of Carl and Anna Nichols Morin, he attended local schools.

Mr. Morin was last employed by the city of North Adams as a custodian at City Hall until his retirement. Before that, he worked as a security guard at the former Sprague Electric Co. for many years.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He was an animal lover and also enjoyed baseball, football and loved bowling in leagues with his brothers. He was well known in North Adams and was loved by everyone.

He leaves his wife, the former Elaine Kawa; his daughter, Julia A. Morin of Lanesborough; his stepson, Jeffrey Kawa and his wife, Stephanie, of East Greenwich, R.I.; his sisters, Josephine Johnson and Julia Morin, both of North Adams; his brother, Michael Morin of North Adams; his grandson Evan Kawa; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Conner.

He was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Colo; four brothers Edward, Richard and Gouch Morin, and his stepbrother, Anthony Morin.
