NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Simone Marie Chouinard, 99, formerly of 138 East Quincy St. died Monday, April 27, 2015, at Heritage Hall in Agawam.
Born in Napierville, Quebec, on Aug. 31, 1915, daughter of Ernest and Anna Hebert Deslauriers, she attended schools in Canada and came to North Adams following her marriage.
Mrs. Chouinard was employed at the former Hunter Outdoor Products.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Her husband, Armand George Chouinard, died in 1980.
She leaves a daughter, Nancy Ruth Callahan of Agawam; two sons, Robert G. Chouinard of Dayville, Ore., and Donald R. Chouinard of North Adams; two sisters, Yolande Deslauriers of Canada and Germaine Couture of North Adams; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A brother and a sister are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Chouinard will be celebrated Friday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Church in care of the funeral home.
