Madeline E. DeMastrie, 68

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Madeline E. "Bunny" DeMastrie, 68, of 85 Eagle St., St. Joseph's Court, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at her home.

Born in North Adams on April 22, 1946, a daughter of Lawrence and Anastasia Januska DeMastrie, she attended schools in North Adams.

Ms. DeMastrie helped her sister at Quadland's Flowers and Gifts in North Adams.

She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and was an avid reader who loved all animals, especially horses. She collected model horses and loved going to horse shows and doing puzzles.

She leaves her sister, Cynthia Martin and her husband, Thomas, of Clarksburg; her brother, Gary DeMastrie of Ogden, Utah; nieces and nephews Lisa, Jeffrey, Stacia, Dawn, Daniel, Samuel and Carl, and special great-nieces Kati Lyn and Lindsey.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ms. DeMastrie will take place Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will take place in the spring.

Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9 to 10:45 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home.

I grew up on Hermon Avenue, across the street from Bunny, Gary, and their mother. I always liked Bunny - very nice person.

Bunny was a simple and pleasant woman who loved all genre of novels, and horses. She was a joy at Quadlands and will be missed.
