NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elizabeth M. Wells, 73, of 80 Prospect St. died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Sweet Brook Care Centers.
Born in North Adams on March 9, 1941, daughter of Francis Tallarico and Helen Defoe Tallarico McDowell, she attended St. Joseph's School and graduated from Drury High School. She also graduated from Elms College.
Mrs. Wells was the proprietor of the former Eagle Street Books and Comics until her retirement. She had earlier been a teacher in Vermont and Chicago.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and enjoyed reading.
She leaves her husband, Gregory N. Wells, whom she married on July 4, 1963; her daughter, Amy S. Wells of Lowell; her brother, Robert Tallarico of Danby, Conn.; her sister, Donna Connors of Pittsfield, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Wells will be celebrated Tuesday, March 25, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be private.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
