Jane L. McLagan, 92

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Jane Lang "Jean" McLagan, 92, of 630 Barbour St. died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at North Adams Commons.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on Jan. 6, 1921, daughter of Charles and Ethel Surr McLagan, she attended schools in Clarksburg and graduated from the former Bliss Business College.

A Navy veteran of World War II, she had been disabled in the war.

Miss McLagan was employed by Scarafoni Realty until her retirement, and had earlier worked at Kronick Insurance Agency.

She was an active member of the former First United Methodist Church and was the past president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the George L. Curran VFW Post 996 and was a member and past president of the Friendly Circle.

The last of her immediate family, she leaves nieces and nephews including Robert C. Rivard, Craig W. Rivard, Jack B. Rivard, Mark D. Rivard and Sandra L. Feder; and grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Herbert H. McLagan, who was killed Italy in 1944 during World War II, and Thomas McLagan in infancy, and her sisters Ethel McLagan, Flora Rivard and Ada McLagan.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Miss McLagan will be Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Adams Ambulance Service in care of the funeral home.
