NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lena L. Baruzzi, 95, a longtime resident of North Adams, died Friday, March 15, 2013.

Born in Whitingham, Vt., on March 10, 1918, the daughter of Silvio and Maria Valenti Domenichini, she attended school in Readsboro, Vt., and graduated from Drury High School and earned her degree from the University of Vermont

She was always ready to help those in need and also volunteered for many neighborhood collections, including Catholic Charities. She was a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers and National Education associations.

Her husband, Frank J. Baruzzi, whom she married June 29, 1946, died March 20, 1991.

She leaves two sons, Frederick Baruzzi and his wife, Patricia, and Silvio Baruzzi; a daughter, Anne Baruzzi; a brother, Joseph S. Domenichini and his wife, Mary Madeline; two granddaughters, Lisa Baruzzi and Cara Rosner and her husband, Jeremy; her sister-in-law Mary Domenichini, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brother Peter Domenichini.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Baruzzi will be private. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers; the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
