Drury Students Earn Over 700 College Credits

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Following the completion of the first full year of the Drury-MCLA Early College Program, more than 120 Drury High School students earned over 700 college credits, a value of $317,000, while still attending high school.   North Adams Public Schools (NAPS) will continue their partnership in the Early College initiative with Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) into the 2024-2025 school year.   This academic collaboration, formally approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in 2023, granted Early College designation to Drury High School. North Adams Council to Vote on Greylock School Project

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The City Council will take up a borrowing authorization for the $65 million Greylock School project at a special meeting on Monday.    If it is approved, there will be a ballot vote for a debt exclusion in September for the city's $20 million portion of the cost.     The committee is planning a full-court press to convince citizens of the need for a new Greylock School to replace the closed 1965 building and the deteriorating Brayton Elementary that needs millions in repairs.    Mayor Jennifer Macksey said it was important for the members of the School Building Committee to attend Monday's meeting to show their support

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — North Adams Public Schools will be destroying special education records of students who withdrew, graduated, transferred or were released from special education services during the 2016-2017 school year.

MSBA Board Shifts Greylock School Project into Funding Phase

 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The $65 million Greylock Elementary School project has moved another step forward with the Massachusetts School Building Authority's vote to enter into a funding agreement.   The MSBA Board of Directors, meeting remotely on Wednesday morning, unanimously authorized the executive director to enter into budget and funding agreements for facilities grants totaling $177,280,778 for North Adams, Agawam and Berkley.   The estimated cost for a new Greylock School is $65,362,859 with a maximum grant estimated at $41,557,218. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Drury High school year culminated on June 7 with an end-of-the-semester showcase, the presentation awards and the naming of this year's Marion B.
