 NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Laura O'Neil went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored the winning run on Wednesday evening as Club Wyndham edged Jack's Hot Dogs, 6-5, in the Pat Torchia Women's Softball League playoffs. Lisa Williams and Julie Lech each went 3-for-4 with a double in the win. For Jack's Cassandra Crosier went 3-for-4 and started a game-tying rally in the top of the seventh inning. Savannah Rogers was 3-for-4, and Alli Lillie was 2-for-4 with a double in the loss. With the win, Club Wyndham advances to the semi-finals of the double-elimination tournament. The North Adams man killed in Tuesday's accident has been identified as David G. Snow, 41. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A North Adams resident was killed in a fatal crash Tuesday in New York's Rensselaer County. The accident is still under investigation by New York State Police and the name of the North Adams driver has not been released. According to a number of New York State news sites, the North Adams resident was westbound at about 2:20 p.m. on Route 7 in Pittstown, west of Hoosick Falls, when they sideswiped a commercial truck hauling a mobile home.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The City Council on Tuesday approved a tax agreement to support the $17 million redevelopment of the Blackinton woolen mill into 50 luxury hotel rooms. The city agreed to exempt a portion of the personal and property taxes of the development over a 10-year period starting at 100 percent in 2027. The vote was unanimous; Councilors Marie T. Harpin and Jennifer Barbeau were absent. CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Clarksburg School is opening a limited number of spots in its four-day prekindergarten program for 3-year-olds. The School Committee voted on Monday to accept applications for four non-resident spots for the 2023-2024 school year on a first-come, first-serve basis until Aug. 28. "We shouldn't have any more than 14, that will give us one, like a cushion in case there's a resident that comes in during the school year," said Superintendent of Schools John Franzoni.
