North Adams Seeks Christmas Trees for 2023

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — You know winter is not far off when the annual call for Christmas trees goes out.    The city is looking for two large trees of 25 to 30 feet in height to decorate the downtown area for the holiday season. One will be installed at the top of Main Street at Monument Square and at the other end the street at Rosenthal Square.    Trees are being sought from the Northern Berkshire area from now until the first week of November.    The city annually lights up the downtown on Thanksgiving Eve.    Anyone wishing to donate trees is asked to contact the Wire & Alarm Department at 413-662-3155. Drury Class of 1973 Gifts Bench and Plaque to Old High School

The bench is located near the former main entrance at Colegrove Park Elementary School next to the nurse's office. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — One of the last classes to graduate from the old Drury High School made sure their time there is not forgotten.     The class of 1973 recently held its 50th class reunion and, as part of their celebration, gifted a bench that is located Colegrove Park Elementary School.     Colegrove on East Main Street was originally Drury High until the "new" high school was built on South Church Street. Meczywor Leads Saboteurs to Fall Basketball League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Casey Meczywor scored 22 points Sunday to lead the Saboteurs to a 49-45 win over Ioka Valley/Original Seed Cigar, in the Northern Berkshire Sports Academy Fall Season B Division at the Armory.   Matt Hall scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.   lukas Zalazo had a game-high 23 points with eight rebounds, and Brian Boudreau finished with 15 boards for Ioka Valley.   NBSA 67, Workaholics 53 Ben Moulton, Brian Dowling and Russ Beauchamp each had a double-double for Northern Berkshire Sports Academy.   Moulton led the way with team highs of 22 points and 17 rebounds.   Dave Vidal scored 15, and Bob Malloy added 13 with 20 boards

Sunday 5K Kicks Off Busy Autumn for Berkshire Running Foundation

Route 112 in Colrain Closing for Bridge Work

COLRAIN, Mass. — The state Department of Transportation will close Route 112 to through traffic for approximately eight weeks beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 19.     Bridge repair work will be conducted and will include removing the concrete wearing surface on two bridges and replacing the surface with a polymer modified concrete overlayment.    Work will begin on the first bridge, located just south of the intersection of Route 112 and Charlemont Road, and will take approximately four weeks to complete.   Work will then begin on the second bridge, located just south of the intersection of Route 112 and Call Road, and will also take approximately four weeks

MCLA Volleyball Wins in Straight Sets
