Weekend Outlook: Pride Festivals, Carnivals & More

There are a variety of events this weekend, including a carnival, Pride celebrations, live music, and more.     Editor’s Pick    Berkshire Pride Festival and Parade The Common Park, Pittsfield Time: Saturday, 11 to 4 p.m.    Pittsfield will celebrate Pride with the Berkshire Pride Festival and Parade.    Participants are encouraged to bring their friends and family, that includes pets, to watch Pittsfield’s pride parade, which will start at 11 a.m. from North Street, down Eagle Street, ending at the Common.    The event also includes vendors, drag performers, musical artists, and more. Fire Service Leaders Urge Summer Fire Safety

STOW, Mass. — State Fire Marshal Jon M. MountainOne Sponsors Steel Rail Races

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MountainOne was excited to be the lead sponsor of Berkshire Running Center's flagship event earlier this month. 

This is MountainOne's third year partnering with Berkshire Running Foundation, a nonprofit agency established to support the running community and promote a healthier lifestyle in Western Massachusetts. The weekend's races included Mo Mile on Saturday, May 18, and the MountainOne Steel Rail Races on Sunday, May 19.

MYSTIC, Conn. -- Julian Stevens Wednesady went 3-for-5 with a home run to lead the Mystic Schooners to a 9-1 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.   Caden Dulin and Max Palinski each had a pair of hits for the 'Cats in their season opener.   Tyler McKinstry took the loss for North Adams, going four innings on the mound and allowing just one earned run.   The SteepleCats Thursday play their home opener at Joe Wolfe Field, hosting the Newport Gulls.

Drury High Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian for Class of 2024

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Drury High School has named Brooke Yvonne Bishop as valedictorian and Ferris Miksic as salutatorian for the class of 2024.    Both students will speak at graduation ceremonies on Thursday, June 6, at 6 p.m. in the high school gym.    Bishop, daughter of Krista and Lee Bishop of the town of Florida, has been a stellar three-sport athlete playing soccer, basketball and softball.
