Kids 4 Harmony Returns to Ozawa Hall

LENOX, Mass. — 18 Degrees will host their Kids 4 Harmony Summer Gala Concert on June 25, 5:30 PM, at Seiji Ozawa Hall, Tanglewood.
The evening will begin with a reception followed by performances starting at 7:00 PM. Over 50 Kids 4 Harmony students will be involved, and there will be a special piece featuring Boston Symphony Orchestra Cellist Owen Young.  
Carolyn and Eli Newberger will be honored for their dedication to the program, in addition to the  commitment they have made to child welfare and the power of music. The evening's program includes pieces by Bohm, Meyer, Price, and Couperin, as well as an original composition by one of the K4H student

Grega Throws Perfect Game in BABL

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Will Grega struck out 13 in a perfect game on the mound Sunday to lead the Berkshire Bandits to a 3-0 win over the North County Kraken in a first-place battle in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League.   The Bandits (5-1) took over sole possession of first place in the league's 20-and-over division over the Kracken (4-1) with the win.   Grega helped his cause by going 1-for-3 with an RBI double and scoring a run on offense.   Demitri Ayers was 1-for-1 with a pair of walks and a runs scored, and Abdiel Cotto singled and scored a run in the win.   Jacob Hall took the loss on the mound for the Kraken with a complete-game effort, striking out eight and

SteepleCats Top Mystic at Joe Wolfe

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Mount Greylock alumnus Derek Paris went 2-for-4 Tuesday to help the North Adams SteepleCats to a 12-5 win over the Mystic Schooners in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.   Taconic grad Nick Guachione doubled in a run, and Sam Sherman scored in the win.   Nick Balcom earned the win on the mound, striking out a pair and allowing two runs in five innings of work.   North Adams (4-5) goes to Vermont on Wednesday.

North Adams Traffic Commission Advises Parking Changes on Several Streets

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Traffic Commission is recommending a no-parking zone weekdays in front of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts alumni offices on East Main Street.    The MCLA Office of Institutional Advancement requested the prohibition because of a number of near accidents caused by poor visibility pulling out of the parking lot.     Matthew Vanheynigen, chief government relations officer, said staff has been urged not to park on the street past the streetlamp "so it's not an obstructed view coming out of our driveway, looking to your left toward the downtown."
