Berkshire Food Project Thanksgiving Dinner Returns In-Person Jack Guerino, iBerkshires Staff 06:00PM / Monday, November 21, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Berkshire Food Project held an in-person Thanksgiving dinner meal for the first time since 2019. "It's great to have people back in here dining. This is what the program originally started as in 1987," Berkshire Food Project Executive Director Mark Rondeau said Monday, Nov 21, at the first seating. "It started to fight hunger but also social isolation." The Berkshire Food Project has not held an in-person Thanksgiving meal since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. Oh Be Thankful Dessert Contest ReturnsStaff Reports , 02:00PM / Monday, November 21, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Oh Be Thankful Pie Auction returns this year to the American Legion on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. The event, organized by Gabriel Abbott Memorial School, benefits the Al Nelson Friendship Food Pantry and the Berkshire Humane Society. Desserts will be rated by community judges. Each contestant bakes two desserts: one for the judges to try and one to be auctioned off. Attendees also get to try a small sample. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |
Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
