 BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) and the Community College of Vermont (CCV) launched their Early Childhood Education (ECE) Residency Program with a ceremony attended by the 18 matriculating students, each organization's staff, and representatives from Vermont's Federal Legislative Delegation. The ECE Residency program incentivizes early childhood education students in either CCV's early childhood education associate degree or childcare certificate program by paying them to increase their course load and graduate sooner.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Post 125 Commander Mitchel Keil hopes to reinvigorate the American Legion in step with its traditions and rich history in the community. "Everybody seems to be on board so far," Keil said. "Coming from the people who've been running it for years, too. The members are just excited to see it be it a little more exciting around here."  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Airport Commission took no action on a $5,000 invoice regarding an airplane that needed to be towed in December after being flipped over during heavy winds. Commission member Marc Morandi, who is responsible for approving invoices, brought the item to the full commission Tuesday wondering if the city should simply pay the invoice or seek to recoup funds. This summer during a storm, a plane was flipped over at the airport. A towing service was called in to flip the plane right side up, and the city was left with an almost $5,000 bill. ADAMS, Mass. — The Board of Selectmen approved a $1.35 million application for federal Community Development Block Grants to fund road repairs and housing rehabilitation. "This year is another good opportunity for the town to apply for CDBG funds," Community Development Director Eammon Coughlin told the board on Wednesday. "It's an interesting application because it's going to provide us two years. When we budgeted this grant the last time back in 2021, the maximum amount requested was $800,000.
