Registration for Summer Courses at MCLA Now Available 01:47PM / Thursday, March 02, 2023 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) announced that registration for summer class sessions is now open. Registration is open to MCLA students, interested community members, high school students, those pursuing a master's degree, and Berkshires-based college students who wish to earn credits toward their degree from another institution. MCLA is offering two summer sessions, held in North Adams, Pittsfield, and online. Session A runs May 22–June 30, 2023, and Session B runs July 3–August 11, 2023. The city partnered with Mass MoCA on the application last fall for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act's Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program. The program is providing a $1 billion over the next five years for planning, construction and technical grants for communities affected by past infrastructure projects. Moore, owner of the Adams Theater, and the previous owners Nana Simopoulos and Caryn Heilman have taken similar paths in opening the Adams Theater and the inn. Simopoulos and Heilman purchased the theater and opened it in 2005 as the Topia Arts Center, doing some of the initial restoration work. Two years later, they opened Topia Inn on Pleasant Street as an organic and environmentally conscious operation. MCLA Baseball Opens Year with Double-Header Sweep08:48PM / Sunday, February 26, 2023 | | NEW YORK -- Noel Medina went 4-for-5 with a double Saturday to lead the MCLA baseball team to an 11-10 win over Yeshiva in a season-opening double-header win for the Trailblazers. Taconic grad Austin Rachiele went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs in the win, which saw four MCLA pitchers combine to strike out 12.
