Vermont Public Hearings on Deer and Moose08:19AM / Saturday, March 18, 2023 | | MONTPELIER, Vt. — The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board will hold public hearings on deer and moose management for 2023 on March 20, 23 and 24. The hearings will include results of Vermont's 2022 deer seasons and prospects for deer hunting next fall as well as an opportunity for people to provide their observations and opinions about the current status of the deer herd. The hearings will also include a review of the 2022 moose hunting seasons and an opportunity for the public to provide feedback on the number of moose permits recommended for 2023. MCLA Softball Picks Up Second Win09:23PM / Thursday, March 16, 2023 | | NAPLES, Fla. -- Kristie Zator went 2-for-4 with a pair of triples Thursday to lead the MCLA softball team to a 10-6 win over SUNY-Delhi. Drury, MCLA Included in State Early College Program02:00PM / Thursday, March 16, 2023 | | BOSTON — The Early College Joint Committee under the Healey-Driscoll administration unanimously voted to expand the Massachusetts Early College program, adding nine additional Early College partnerships and increasing the number of participating high schools to nearly 60 high schools across the Commonwealth. With these additional programs, nearly 7,800 Massachusetts students are projected to be enrolled in Early College programs by the upcoming school year. North Adams Police Chief Under Investigation Staff Reports , 11:02AM / Thursday, March 16, 2023 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Police Chief Jason Wood has been put on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation is conducted. According to the Berkshire Eagle, Wood's leave began March 8, and the investigation, which is being done by the city's legal team, is not criminal in nature. In the interim, Lt. The application by Bro MX, owned by Jessica and Jason Langenback, was approved 5-1 Monday night by the Planning Board over objections from residents who say the noise from the track on Curran Highway is "extraordinarily obnoxious." There were pockets without power across the county, including about 300 customers in North County. Some had been told restoration wouldn't be possible until sometime Thursday. Berkshire Hills Development purchased to the two houses more than a decade go. They were approved for demolition last year. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Planning Board on Monday gave the go-ahead for Porches to add 11 rooms to the downtown hotel. The hotel on River Street is planning to knock down two adjacent buildings at 22-28 Veazie St. and replace them with a new structure that will contain 11 rooms and four studios, and will allow for seven underground parking spaces. The hotel is allowed by right in the B-2 zone and has owned the two Veazie Street two-family homes for more than a decade.
