Are you protected from disability risk?Submitted by Edward Jones, 08:27AM / Tuesday, May 09, 2023 | | Like many people, you may try to stay healthy by exercising regularly, following a good diet and avoiding dangerous activities. But as we all know, life is unpredictable, and despite your best efforts, you may encounter an injury or illness that can leave you unable to work for several months — or longer. If this happened, would you have difficulty paying your bills? Or would you be forced to dip into investments meant to help you achieve long-term goals, such as a comfortable retirement? To help prevent these outcomes, you may want to protect yourself against the possibility of a disability. One good move is to build an emergency fund containing up to six months' worth of 0 Comments Read More >> |

Berkshire Wild: A Cooper Has LandedBy Tor Hansen, iBerkshires columnist 06:01PM / Saturday, May 06, 2023 | |
A Cooper's hawk roosting at my porch feeder will hunt smaller birds and rodents and thrives in urban areas. Oh my! Much to my astonishment, only 8 feet away from me, seated at my iMac desktop, a bird so bold and intrepid has alighted inside my porch bird feeder station where for years now, I enjoy small but certain revelations from watching winter birds come and go in search of bird seeds and suet. Of course that includes various woodpeckers as well as the prevalent throng that feed in a wave of succession the chickadees, tufted titmice, and the acrobatic nuthatches. Rarely do bluejays appear with their shrill alert calls, and sometimes rosy cardinals 0 Comments Read More >> |
