To the Editor: I watched the recent District 8 Governor's Council debate held by NEPM and other Western Massachusetts media outlets. The dialogue between Democrat Tara Jacobs and her Republican opponent laid out stark contrasts, and a difference in vision beyond simple party affiliation. To summarize: Tara: Find the best people for our judiciary and encourage them to apply for positions. Opponent: Just vote on who is presented. The Governor's Council is not an employment agency. The RTP has a 20-year planning horizon and is updated every four years. Adams Daytime Paving Operations During Week of Oct. 3111:30AM / Monday, October 31, 2022 | | ADAMS, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced it will be conducting daytime paving operations in Adams, from the rotary at Friend Street, north to the town line of North Adams. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 31 and will continue daily through Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The work will require temporary lane closures to allow crews to safely and efficiently conduct the repair operations. Travel will be allowed through the work zones. Veteran Spotlight: Army Lt. Col. She retired a lieutenant colonel after a marvelous 23-year career with assignments at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver, Cutler Army Hospital in Ayer, Walter Reed in Washington, D.C., and Fort Meade in Maryland. Born in Dedham, she did her basic training at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga., which received all orthopedic Vietnam War combat injuries. Lt. Col.
