NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) announced an investment of more than $500,000 to replace the roof at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink in North Adams. "When I began serving as Mayor of North Adams in January 2022, one of my first actions was to work with DCR to ensure long-term stability of this important community and regional asset," said Mayor Jennifer A.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The North Adams Public Library will host a cosplay workshop with Eldritch Arts, costume and prop makers, on Wednesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. The free workshop will teach participants beginner-friendly and inexpensive methods for creating cosplay items using foam-based materials. These techniques are suitable for making elf ears, wing-shaped ears, masquerade masks, goblin masks, and horns. Participants will be able to take their creations home.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — McCann Technical School is preparing for a major overhaul of its 30-year-old roof and 60-year-old single-pane windows and will be shifting the school calendar to accommodate the project. The vocational school was invited into the Massachusetts School Building Authority's accelerated repair program last fall. He grew up in Manassas, Va., and graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1999. "One of the things that made our class so unique was our size," he said.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The CIAO Soccer Hall of Fame induction and scholarship banquet was held on Thursday, May 8, at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield. The 2025 inductees were honored, and 21 scholarships were presented to one boy and one girl senior soccer player from each high school in the county (chosen by their high school coaches).
