NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A two-session workshop, "The Matière: Material Studies from the Bauhaus, Black Mountain College, and Beyond," will be offered at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts on June 7 and June 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Taught by artist and Albers Foundation Education Director Fritz Horstman, the workshop is based on curricula developed by Josef and Anni Albers. CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Town meeting approved using up to $613,000 to put a new roof on the elementary school. Article 13 authorized the borrowing of $500,000 and Article 14 the use $113,371 from the school roof stabilization fund. The five-year borrowing is expected to add about $200 to the average property bill, with it declining in each year starting in fiscal 2027. A ballot vote on excluding the borrowing from Proposition 2 1/2 will be held on June 25. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Watch out for road closures in the downtown as the city's crosswalks are embellished with original art over the next week. The painting began Tuesday, with some crosswalks completed and others getting some outlines down for later details. The work is expected to be finished in time for First Friday on June 6.
