North Adams Council Revotes to Back Housing Authority Commissioner

McCann Raises More than $1,000 for AYJ Fund

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The McCann school community raised $1,350 for the AYJ Fund through a "coin war."   The school's SkillsUSA officers, who organized the coin war, presented AYJ founders Kathy and Joe Arabia a large check made up of small change Thursday.   "That's what we find so amazing is that you are, number one, so successful, but really it's because of your commitment and want to do something for other families," Kathy Arabia said. Local Vintage Shop Terra Moves to Eagle Street

DALTON, Mass. — Local vintage shop Terra has moved to a bigger location downtown in an attempt to expand and build a deeper connection with the community.    The thrift shop, now located at 11 Eagle St., opened during the pandemic two years ago on Ashland Street.    Owner Samantha White said her curated offerings of clothing, housewares and decor are vintage but for the modern style.    "So, we have the fun funky glassware but it's all very like in a sophisticated adult lifestyle but for those that still want a little sparkle of fun in their stuff," White said.    Shopping and collecting vintage is like a journey of self-discovery

Abbott Memorial Raises Money for Veterans Food Pantry

FLORIDA, Mass. — The Gabriel Abbott Memorial School community raised $808.08 through its Penny Delay Day. Although ir caused a bit of work for teachers, the drive has helped support an important regional agency.   "The trick of getting them to bring more money in was we couldn't start teaching until we counted the change," Denise Chesbro, second-grade teacher and assistant principal said.
