NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — McCann Technical School officials are hoping to get students into the HVAC technician classrooms by February next year. The School Committee on Thursday night awarded the contract for the 5,800 square-foot building to Salco Construction of Pittsfield, which came in with the low bid of about $2.9 million. Salco has worked on a range of local construction projects from residential homes to larger enterprises such as the Berkshire Museum renovation and Jiminy Peak. Bradley Architects was the designer. MCLA Golfer Wins Tournament TitleMCLA Sports Information, 09:10AM / Saturday, September 16, 2023 | | RANDOLPH, Vt. -- It took two extra holes and a sudden death play-off, but MCLA's Matt Gover won his third individual title of the season today claiming the Tony Mariano Invitational hosted by Norwich University at the Montague Golf Club. Gover shot an even par 71 with a birdie on the 8th hole and an eagle on the 15th to tie Norwich University's Cooper Bertrand before winning the title on the second play-off hole. Two weeks ago, Gover won the Norwich Invitational on the same course and earlier this week he won the MCLA Invitational at the Waubeeka Country Club. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |

Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
