NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Artful Jeweler has a new owner who is looking to expand its offerings. Cheryl Coppens opened the jewelry store in May, showcasing local artists, offering fine jewelry, and jewelry repair. But a new grandson in Texas, and the difficulties in flying back and forth to see him, had her looking to move closer to him. North Adams Water Safe to Drink| 01:10PM / Thursday, December 18, 2025 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Water Department says all water line breaks have been repaired and water restored to those affected areas. The boil water order has been lifted by the state Department of Environmental Protection. Residents no longer have to boil water or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, food preparation, brushing teeth or washing dishes. A partial lift of the Dec. 15 order was issued on Tuesday; as of Thursday, the requirement is no longer in effect for any areas of the city. North Adams Lifts Boil Water Order for Most of CityStaff Reports , 02:33PM / Tuesday, December 16, 2025 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The city has lifted a boil water order — with several exceptions — that was issued late Monday morning following several water line breaks over the weekend. As of 2:20 p.m., repairs have been completed, and water tests have shown no presence of total coliform or E. coli bacteria, according to the mayor's office. CLARKSBURG, Mass. — The owner of an average home will see their tax bill rise by about $132, or about 4.16 percent. The Select Board on Monday approved a single tax rate, which means property owners will see a rate $12.29 per $1,000 valuation. Assessor Romana Messer walked the board through the town's valuations and her recommendations to stick to a single tax rate.
