North Adams Airport Hangar Still Unfinished

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Without electricity, the newly renovated North East hangar remains incomplete, although airport engineers hope to bring service to the city hangar in the coming months.   "We are kind of at a standstill, and we have been at a standstill probably two months now," Stantec Engineer Peter Enzien told the commission Tuesday.   Enzien, who is the airport's contracted engineer, said the city is waiting on National Grid to complete a redesign of the new service entrance to the building. NORTH ADAMS, Mass..— The MCLA Student Government Association’s 46th annual Sam Gomez Road Race will be held and around the campus of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Sunday, April 7.   With the help of loyal sponsors and runners, SGA has raised more than $30,000 for Berkshire-based organizations over the past two decades. North Adams Pride Hosts Second Annual Northern Lights Ball

Gittens Records Double-Double in MCLA's Season Finale

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Aaron Nkrumah scored 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds Thursday to lead the Worcester State men's basketball team to a 76-52 win over MCLA in the MASCAC tournament.   Taconic High graduate and MCLA senior Quentin Gittens had 23 points, 13 rebounds and four assists -- all game highs -- in his final collegiate outing.   The Trailblazers finish the season with a record of 14-12.

Albany Firm Looks To Purchase Crane Stationery

COHOES, N.Y. — According to an article from the Times Union, WP Strategic Holdings is reported to be purchasing Crane Stationery company that was formerly located in North Adams.   The article, that was published Feb, 20. 2024, stated that the holding company's owner Todd Kletter told the Albany Business Review that "In principle, we have a deal," in regard to the purchase.   The article continued that WP Strategic Holdings already listed Crane as one of its properties on its website, and Kletter told the Albany Business Review that he hoped to have Crane in operation this week.   He expects to close on the deal within 30 to 45 days.   Earlier this

City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket

Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket. Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.

The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
