A-oK Berkshire Barbeque to Close Staff Reports , 04:00PM / Thursday, April 28, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The owners of A-oK Berkshire Barbeque announced that they plan to shut up shop after May 2. "This decision did not come easily. We have loved every second here. There are too many memories to mention as all of them were so much a part of our adventure on this campus and in this community," owners Aaron and Alexandra Oster wrote on Facebook on Wednesday. The Osters and Orion Howard, owner of Bright Ideas Brewery, opened the barbecue in 2018 in the former Sprague Electric guardhouse on the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts campus. The Cruckfather Wins Lever's 2022 Mohawk Trail Entrepreneur Challenge 11:43AM / Thursday, April 28, 2022 | | NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —The Cruckfather, LLC of Shelburne was selected by a panel of judges on Wednesday during the 2022 Mohawk Trail Entrepreneur Challenge (MTEC) pitch event at Foolhardy Hill in Charlemont, winning a $25,000 Lever Innovation Grant for their innovative timber frame construction business model. The Cruckfather and three other wood-based businesses from the Mohawk Trail region pitched their ideas at the MTEC, the culmination of Lever's startup acceleration program that helped each refine their business plans and work with mentors. SVMC Celebrates National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 3009:47AM / Thursday, April 28, 2022 | | BENNINGTON, Vt. — Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC), is proud to participate with local organizations to share National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 30. The observation provides a reminder for community members to look through their medicine cabinets and safely dispose of medications that could cause harm to others. SVMC hosts a MedSafe collection box, which is available 24 hours every day for the anonymous disposal of unneeded medications. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |
Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
