Drury High Names Valedictorian & Salutatorian for 2025 Graduation

North Adams Embarking on Recodification of the City Code

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The city will be upgrading its code over the next two years.    The City Council last week heard from Zachary Dumont, an account manager with General Code, which manages municipal codes for some 4,000 local governments across the nation and nearly 300 in New England. Jimmy Fund Fund-Raiser Returns June 28

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – A local fund-raiser for the Jimmy Fund keeps getting bigger and bigger.   Striking out Cancer in the Berkshires returns for a fifth year on Saturday, June 28, on Buddy Pellerin Field at Clapp Park.   Organizer Joe DiCicco, who started the event in 2021 in honor of his late wife, never expected to still be planning for the event five years later.   “It is amazing,” he said recently. “I just didn’t know what to expect five years ago, but every year it gets bigger.”   And it gets more successful.   In 2024, Striking Out Cancer in the Berkshires raised $10,400, its best year yet, adding to a total of close to

McCann Tech Postsecondary Grads Advised to Be Flexible in Careers

The scene was going to be held for a couple hours to allow for the investigation.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A local man is being detained in the investigation into a suspected arson on Cleveland Avenue on Monday afternoon.   "He's being detained as part of the investigation. Drury Middle School Students Learn About Volunteering, Nonprofits

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Drury High eighth-graders recently spent their semester researching and learning about the work that Berkshire nonprofits do in the community.    The course was a program of the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires, "Philanthropy in Schools." The students researched what they were passionate about and found the organizations that aligned with their passion.
