 WALTHAM, MA – National Grid is prepared for a third winter storm of the week to impact Massachusetts Friday evening through Saturday, bringing hazardous wind gusts and heavy rains into the region. The primary concerns associated with this storm include heavy rains, the potential for flooding in coastal and low-lying areas, and significant sustained wind, including the possibility of hazardous peak wind gusts of up to 60 mph in coastal areas. Saturated grounds from heavy rainfall and recent snow melting along with gusting winds can damage trees and knock down power wires, causing power outages in impacted locations. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — On behalf of the Drury Portrait of a Graduate Student Team and Drury staff, North Adams Public Schools families and community members are invited to attend Drury High School's first annual End of Semester Showcase. The showcase takes place on Jan. 23 from 11:30AM–2:00PM at the school. The showcase will offer audiences an understanding of what Drury students have learned during their Project-Based Learning courses, and the types of academic content they've explored. CLARKSBURG, Mass. — The town finally has a Finance Committee in place after nearly two years. Moderator Ronald Boucher informed the Select Board on Thursday that he had appointed Carla Fosser and Charles "Chuck" Lewitt for terms ending on Jan. 11 in 2025 and 2026, respectively. "They play a very, very important role here in the town," said Boucher, whose position is authorized to appoint the three-person committee. "I understand the Select Board can oversee [the finances] but really those guys are the checks and balances to make sure we're set up correctly and moving forward." City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |
Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
