WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Jack Miller Contractors (JMC) has hired Jim La Casse as senior superintendent and Lawrence Prince as project coordinator.

Jim La Casse has been in the construction business for more than 50 years. He started his career as a carpenter foreman in Williamstown, owned and operated a custom millwork shop, and worked for four years as a dairy farmer in North Bennington, Vt.

In addition to owning and managing a 28-unit multi-housing property and commercial office space, La Casse was superintendent and project manager for several companies across the Northeast.

As he continued to grow professionally, so did the size of the projects he supervised; the largest being a $287 million bio-generation sewage treatment plant in the Washington, D.C. area.

La Casse served in the military for seven years, holds a Massachusetts State Builder's License, and is OSHA-certified.

His community service includes coach and referee roles in youth soccer, football, and Little League as well as project management for the Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity.

"My role with JMC will be more along the lines of coach and mentor to the talented teams already in place doing great work," La Casse said. "We will begin the 'lean journey' together improving every day how we do our work and how we plan for tomorrow. We will continue to build trust and respect for every person involved in our projects, which in turn, will increase efficiency and make our lives better."

Lawrence Prince moved to the Berkshires from Philadelphia in May of 2020 to change careers and be closer to family. He has more than 15 years of experience in the electrical industry in both distribution and manufacturing.

Prince has expertise in defining and implementing operational direction with core focus on P&L, project management, expanding staff capabilities, and resolving critical company obstacles.

As president of Manna Supply, he directed operations for the $33 million firm, formulated and executed all strategic plans, and eventually sold the company in order to make the move up north.

"I am thrilled to be working with a great team in an industry that I love. JMC's focus on building science and beautiful, durable, long-lasting homes is a business model that I am proud to be a part of," Prince said. "Being a novice on the construction side of things has me enjoying new challenges and the research that comes along with it. This move, both physically and professionally, has felt like a long working vacation and I couldn't be happier."

Jack Miller Contractors is a full-service general contractor that currently employs 20 professionals in the community.
