NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- New England College's Molly Bieksha scored a pair of goals to lead the visiting Pilgrims past the MCLA women's soccer team, 2-0, Tuesday afternoon at Shewcraft Field.

Bieksha got the scoring started early as she tallied in the eighth minute of play. She gathered a loose ball off in the MCLA box off a shot from teammate Paxton Couture. Bieksha lofted a ball into the upper right corner for her fourth goal of the season and a 1-0 lead for the Pilgrims (5-6). The score remained that way into halftime as the visitors held a 6-2 shot advantage.

NEC maintained the lead deep into the second half until they finally slipped another one past MCLA keeper Megan Richardson. It was again Bieksha in the middle of the action. In the 77th minute, she corraled a great cross from Kayla Paquin for her fifth goal of the season and increase the lead to 2-0.  MCLA (1-8-1) didn't threaten from there.

NEC outshot MCLA 15-6 in the contest.

Allie Stoddart collected three saves to record the shutout victory as she improves to 4-3 on the season.

Richardson stopped six shots in defeat for MCLA.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Salem State.
