O+ supports the health of underinsured artists and musicians through festivals at which they exchange art-making and performances for wellness services: The art of medicine for the medicine of art!

We are looking for some folks to help us ensure this festival runs smoothly and we need your help. As a festival volunteer, you receive a free tee-shirt and wristband that gains you access to the entire festival.

If you want to give us a few more hours and become a "super volunteer", you can also gain access to some of the clinical services as well.

All volunteers will receive a tee-shirt and wrist band that gives them free access to the festival, as well as basic clinic access (primary care, nursing, mental health, and Reiki).

Folks interested in becoming "super volunteers" or team leaders and who volunteer for a few more hours earn access to the wider range of clinic services as they are available.

We are looking for help with:

Customer Service; Wristband and Merch Sales; Cleaning and Set Up; Driving and Errands; Sound and Technical; Media (Photo, Video, Social, etc); Speak a Foreign Language; Other Skills

4/13 - Volunteers  Needed For MCLA’S Spring Community Day of Service

Volunteers can register via the College’s registration form here.

 Sign-in will take place at 8:30 a.m. on April 13 in MCLA’s Venable Gym, where coffee, tea and light refreshments will be served. A welcome will take place at 9 a.m., before participants are directed to their on-site or off-site service assignments.
The day will include projects suitable for all ages and abilities. MCLA students and local residents will choose from more than 10 sites to provide service to the community, including the Berkshire Food Project, YMCA, Louison House, Habitat for Humanity and New Hope Church.
 In addition, a variety of projects will take place at Venable Gym, including plastic mat weaving and making cards for hospitalized children. All participants are invited to return to Venable Gym at 1 p.m. to share a free lunch and community celebration.
 The Spring Community Day of Service is supported annually by hundreds of MCLA volunteers, the MCLA Volunteer Center, and the contributions of many local community members.

1Berkshire is pleased to announce its 2019 Career Fair which will be held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 from 10am-4pm at the New Taconic High School. This event is free and open to the general public and is held in partnership with Berkshire Community College and Pittsfield Public Schools.  

Last year we had over 75 businesses in attendance and over 400 individuals came to find out about job opportunities in the Berkshires. The companies in attendance represent a cross section of industries from financial and educational institutions and employment services, to area manufacturing companies and hospitality venues. This event is a great opportunity for all job seekers in the Berkshires to be seen by local companies and to also learn the scope of available jobs in the area. New for 2019, the Career Fair will be providing on-site educational workshops and resume review sessions for attendees to continue honing their career search tools and skills. Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) announces this spring’s public policy lecture will be presented by bestselling author Sarah Smarsh at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, in the MCLA Church Street Center’s Eleanor Furst Roberts Auditorium.
Following the lecture, Smarsh will host a book-signing in the Founders Room of the MCLA Church Street Center, which is also open to the public. Books will be available there for purchase.
Smarsh, the author of New York Times bestseller “Heartland: A Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke in the Richest Country on Earth” is an educator, speaker, and journalist who focuses on socioeconomic class and rural America. Her book examines historic economic inequality and tells the story of her upbringing among the working poor on a Kansas farm.

Honeysuckle is a progressive folk act that blends older influences and traditional instrumentation with modern effects and inspiration.

March 13, we lost a vibrant young lady with a heart of gold. Leanne Stokes was only 18. Her parents had not planned for her early departure and have been left with the financial burden of coming up with funeral costs.
