SALEM, Mass. -- The Salem State women's basketball team clamped down on visiting MCLA as the Vikings earned their first conference win of the season with a 56-38 victory over the Trailblazers.
Salem improves to 3-15 overall, but is now 1-5 in the conference.
MCLA drops their sixth straight game as they fall to 4-12. They are 0-5 in the MASCAC and will host Framingham State on Thursday night.
MCLA was paced by Hannah Mazzeo's 11-point night off the bench. The Trailblazers shot just 20 percent from the floor and committed 18 turnovers in the loss.
Men's Basketball
SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State remained atop the MASCAC with a resounding 103-77 win.
The Vikings (11-8, 5-1) placed four players in double figures led by Sean Bryan's game best 22-point night. Bryan also collected his 1,000th career point for the hosts in the win.
MCLA dropped to 4-13 overall and is still in search of their first MASCAC win at 0-5.
MCLA was paced by Shamar Logins. He ended with 14 points off the bench. Mike Demartinis added 11 and George Felogloy notched 10.
MCLA is back at home on Thursday when it hosts Framingham State at 5:30.
