ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Taconic graduate Lauren Mangiardi netted a hat trick and Kate Mancini added a pair of goals as the MCLA women's soccer team cruised past Cobleskill, 6-1, Wednesday.

Mancini opened the scoring in the 18th minute as she scored an unassisted goal for her first of the season. Ten minutes later, Mangiardi collected a Caitlyn Maloney feed and deposited in the goal to make it 2-0. She then connected on a blast from 30 yards out just 25 seconds later to give MCLA (3-7) a 3-0 lead.

The Fighting Tigers (4-7) got one back on Leigha LaTourette's goal in the 38th minute, but MCLA would go into halftime with a commanding 3-1 edge.

Mancini and Mangiardi would put the game out of reach when they scored just a minute apart from each other to increase the lead to 5-1.  Hannah Van de Water would add a goal in the 73rd minute to complete the scoring.

Hoosac Valley's Megan Richardson earned the win in net for the Trailblazers stopping four shots.

The Trailblazers will head to Framingham State on Saturday morning as they seek their third straight win.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The visiting Southern Vermont men's soccer team got a goal from Nikolas Joseph in the 51st minute and held off the MCLA Trailblazers 1-0 Wednesday evening at Shewcraft Field.

MCLA (0-9-1) outshot the Mountaineers 8-3 in the opening half 8-3, but neither team could light up the scoreboard. It didn't take SVC (2-10) long in the second half to take the lead.

MCLA turned over the ball over at midfield and Osman Padilla sent a pass up ahead to Joseph. He converted his fourth goal of the season to give SVC the 1-0 edge. The Mountaineers only surrendered five shots to the Trailblazers in the second half as they held on for the victory.

Sean Bradshaw took the loss for MCLA, collecting saves.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The visiting Sage College volleyball team received 14 kills, 23 assists, and nine digs from Wahconah graduate Emma Parkington as they held off the hard charging MCLA Trailblazers, 3-2, Wednesday at the Amsler Campus Center Gym.

Sage (5-13) took a 2-1 lead after sets of 25-18, 20-25, and 25-17 and seemed in control. From there, the Trailblazers (6-10) mounted a rally. They trailed in the fourth set 22-18 but rallied behind the serving of Celine Manigbas to earn a hard fought 27-25 and force the deciding set. MCLA once again jumped out to an early lead, but Sage rallied behind Parkington to put the match away at 15-11.
