Taylor Leads Team to Narrow Win in John Giorgi Summer Basketball League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Jeric Taylor scored 21 points Wednesday to lead the Celtics to a 75-72 win over Brick Squad in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.
 
Wyatt Tucker had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics, who got 17 and 10 points from Avery Lynch and Chris Bennett, respectively.
 
Mitch Scace scored a game-high 25 and grabbed 11 boards to lead Brick Squad. Brand Davis hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 21 points, and Matt Chamberlain had 14 in the loss.
 
In Wednesday's other game, Mark Ruffin scored 18 points, and Rich Harrington added 17 to lead Outlook Builders/Pizza House to an 86-32 win over Alton & Westall Real Estate.
 
Ruffin had 11 rebounds for one of his team's two double-doubles. Clayton Palmer chipped in with 14 points and 18 boards.
 
Justin Girard scored 11 points, and Hayden Bird and Nick Trombley each had eight for Alton & Westall.
 
League play continues Thursday at Noel Field with a 6:30 double-header in the high school boys division: Hoosac Valley plays Mount Greylock first, followed by McCann Tech against Drury.
