SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Union's Nicole Conley scored 15 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as the Dutchwomen held visiting MCLA to just 26 percent shooting as they pulled away from the Trailblazers earning a 52-32 win in non conference action.
Union (4-4) never trailed, leading 10-9 after one quarter and increasing the lead to 23-16 at halftime. The Dutchwomen took control early in the third quarter as Corina Lindsey and Conley drilled back to back 3-pointers, increasing the margin to 29-18. MCLA (4-7) answered with two straight buckets, but Union embarked on an 11-1 spurt to shoot out to a 40-23 lead. The Trailblazers scored the final five points of the third quarter, but still trailed, 40-28, heading to the fourth.
Sam Gawron was the leading scorer for MCLA with ninepoints.
MCLA is back in action on Thursday night as it hosts Becker College at 6 p.m.in the Amsler Campus Center.
