A group of poets came together in the Fall of 2015 at a Tupelo Press/MASS MoCA residency. On their last afternoon, they held a poetry reading in The Boiler House on the MASS MoCA campus, against Stephen Vitiello’s soundscape “All the Vanished Engines.” With that reading, The Boiler House Poets were born. The group returned for a residency in 2016 and will return in 2017. Members come from Arizona, Colorado, New York, and New Hampshire. They will hold a final reading October 4th at Makers Mill in North Adams. Refreshments will be served. |

50th Annual Greylock Ramble

Each Columbus Day for the past 50 years, thousands of people have made the hike to the highest spot in Massachusetts. This year, for the 50th Annual Ramble on Monday, October 9th, a special memento of this year's hike will be available at the summit.
Free shuttles take hikers from downtown Adams to and from the base of the Cheshire Harbor Trail from 8 am to 4 pm. Use of the shuttle is strongly recommended, as parking near the trail is very limited.
The Greylock Ramble takes place on the Cheshire Harbor Trail which is the gentlest path to the summit. However, the round trip is 6.6 miles, moderately strenuous and takes four to five hours. There are refreshments and souvenirs available for purchase at the top, but the hike itself and the spectacular views are free!

Learn how to help your child get ready to read with simple activities. These parent and child workshops are for families with children ages 2 to 5 years old. Each family who attends the workshops will receive: A “Ready to Read” tote bag filled with free books and other fun “Ready to Read” materials to use at home with their family. “Every Child Ready to Read” was developed by the Association for Library Service to Children.
