NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Steve Bopp scored 17 points, and Clayton Palmer added 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Bopp's Home Improvement defeated the Celtics, 58-43, on Sunday's opening night in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.

 

Palmer also blocked four shots for Bopp's, which got 10 points and four rebounds from Mel Robinson.

 

Moe Mays scored seven for the Celtics.

 

Moresi & Associates opened the season with a 54-40 win over Maselli & Tanzman behind 15 points from Justin Girard and 14 points and 11 rebounds from Jamal Warren.

 

Brandon Mauer scored 11 and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.

 

Greg Vreeland led Pete's with 13 points, and Wyatt Tucker had 12 rebounds to go along with nine points.

 

Play continues on Monday evening with two games starting at 6:30 at Noel Field.
