Take a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la-cl96AZ0w. We’ll also be getting back the rising star that is Upstate Rubdown! This time around, they’ll be performing a stripped down version of their all-things-American sound, bringing only the three lead singers and going by the band name Not My Sister. Check them out here. In her affable and effervescent style, Taryn bares all (literally) to explore the factors contributing to this problem and seeks to find solutions in this film that is relevant, relatable, highly engaging and, above all, life changing. Two-time Best Actor Oscar winners Spencer Tracy and Fredric March go toe-to-toe in this thrilling retelling of the most titanic courtroom battle of the century. Garnering four Academy Award nominations, Inherit the Wind was loosely based on the 1925 trial of John Scopes in Dayton, Tennessee. This film, widely considered as a commentary on the cultural wars that still plague America, tells the story of a teacher in a small town who is brought to trial for teaching

Darwinism. The controversial subject of evolution versus creation leads to an explosive battle of beliefs and laws in this compelling classic. Williams alum Ed Larson, author of the Pulitzer Prize winning-book Summer for the Gods about the Scopes Trial and Inherit the Wind, will provide commentary after the movie about the cultural impact of both the trial and the movie.

3 pm - 4:30 pm
$12 General, $10 Members
for more information

From award-winning director Phil Grabsky comes this fresh new look at arguably the world’s favourite artist – through his own words. Using letters and other private writings, I, Claude Monet reveals new insight into the man who not only painted the picture that gave birth to Impressionism, but who was also perhaps the most influential and successful painter of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Despite this, and perhaps because of it, Monet’s life is a gripping tale about a man who, behind his sun-dazzled canvases, suffered from feelings of depression, loneliness, even suicide. As his art developed and his love of gardening led to the glories of his garden at Giverney, his humor, insight, and love of life is revealed. Shot on location in Paris, London, Normandy and Venice, I, Claude Monet is a cinematic immersion into some of the most loved and iconic scenes in Western Art.
