Soule Monde is a deep funk avant outfit that features Russ Lawton and Ray Paczkowski. The duo draws notably from their decade plus of touring and recording with Phish front man's Trey Anastasio Band, and while the pair has been compared to The Benevento/Russo Duo or a two­-man Medeski, Martin + Wood, Soule Monde stake out their own turf. Their collaborations include releases with Carlos Santana, Live at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and appearances on late night shows from Saturday Night Live, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, and Conan O'Brien. Russ Lawton is credited with co­-writing the Grammy-­nominated song "First Tube" which appeared on Phish's 2000 album Farmhouse, and Ray Paczkowski toured and recorded with Dave Matthews & Friends. Soule Monde members have shared the stage with Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews, Victor Wooten, Mike Gordon, Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana, Zzebra, Viperhouse, & Strangefolk.

Pace: Easy. Terrain: Easy to Moderate. Description: Join BNRC staff to watch the sun set over the city of North Adams. 1.5-mile roundtrip hike with moderate climbs to the overlook. Bring a flashlight or headlamp for the hike down. Snacks and warm drinks are welcome! Come prepared for ice and snow; bring appropriate footwear. Bring clothing appropriate for cold, windy weather. Directions: From Pittsfield, take Rt. 8 North. At the Cumberland Farms, take a right onto Rt. 8A. Take a right onto Rt. 2. After climbing the hairpin turns, the BNRC parking lot will be on the right, immediately following the Wigwam Cabins.

The choreographer/dancer/director and TEDGlobal Oxford Fellow
Richard Move will be in residence to develop "XXYY," a new collaboration with theater artist Alba Clemente and visual artist Paolo Canevari. "XXYY" is a multi-sensorial, poetic, and otherworldly theatrical event exploring the chromosomal combinations that produce gender identity, reconstructing the conventional binaries of male and female. This program is supported in part by the Irene Hunter Fund for Dance at MASS MoCA in association with Jacob's Pillow Dance. This program is supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Do you know someone at risk of a heroin/opioid overdose' Naloxone (Narcan) reverses overdoses. You can safely administer CPR/Naloxone and Save a Life. CPR/Naloxone Training will be held on Monday, January 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Williamstown, 906 Main Street, Williamstown. All residents of Northern Berkshire County are invited to attend this FREE community training to learn how to react if you witness a heroin/opioid overdose. What you’ll learn: How to identify the signs of an overdose; How to assess if an overdose victim needs rescue breathing or CPR; How to perform rescue breathing and CPR (earn CPR certification); How to administer Naloxone (Narcan); How to obtain low cost or no cost Naloxone. Space is limited.

The Hoosic River Watershed, based in Williamstown and dedicated to the conservation, restoration and enjoyment of the Hoosic River and its watershed,  will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, January 23 at 7 pm in the First Congregational Church on Main Street in the Community Hall. Our main speaker will be Professor Jose Constantine of Williams College who will discuss his plans to use the Hoosic River, in Williamstown and nearby communities, as a form of outdoor laboratory for students who will study topics such as flooding, river sediment composition and monitor the river over time. In addition, there will be a brief update on the status of our River Trail and projects happening along the Hoosic and its tributaries.
