NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will offer open house events in Pittsfield and on the MCLA campus for those interested in completing their bachelor’s degrees, earning their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or Master of Education (MEd) degree, and more.

Two open houses will be held: on Monday, Oct. 24, in the Berkshire Athenaeum in Pittsfield; and on Tuesday, Oct. 25, on the MCLA campus in Bowman Hall, room 217. Both events will begin at 6 p.m.

MCLA’s Degree Completion, MBA and MEd programs are designed to meet the needs of working adult learners. MCLA’s Degree Completion programs, designed to take just over two years to complete, are offered in a cohort-style learning format. Students will begin their course of study with a group of peers and proceed through the program together. Prior learning credits are available for work and life experience.

In addition to the Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies that focuses on children, families and society for early childhood educators, MCLA offers a Bachelor of Science degree completion program in business administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies in leadership and business.

Classes for the next leadership and business cohort start on Jan. 11, 2017.

The business administration degree completion program has a rolling starting date: students may begin their studies during any semester. The children, families and society program for early educators will begin again next fall; however, those who wish to considered for scholarship money need to start the application process so that they might be accepted in January or February 2017, to be eligible for possible funding.

MCLA’s MBA program offers courses that meet in a combination of online and face-to-face instruction. This accelerated program, also presented in the cohort model, requires a minimum of 30 credits of graduate business courses to be completed in less than two years. The next cohort for this program will begin in fall 2017.

The MEd program at MCLA meets the needs of both aspiring and established educational professionals who are ready to take their careers to the next level – as master teachers, administrators, specialists, or policy-makers – through a blend of classroom experiences and hands-on fieldwork.

Applications for the MEd program are being accepted now for the spring 2017 semester. MEd students may start at the beginning of each semester: spring, summer and fall.
