NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The MCLA volleyball team attempted a late comeback, but it wasn't meant to be as the Keene State Owls took a 3-2 win this evening in non-conference action at Amsler Campus Center Gym.

 

The first set was back and forth and stayed close until MCLA (9-11) made a late run and defeated the Owls 25-20. Keene State (11-7) went on to take the next two sets by scores of 25-6 and 25-21. MCLA came back and won the fourth set, 25-21, but Keene State held strong and took the last set 15-7 to secure the win.

 

The Owls were paced by setter Katie Cunningham's game high 43 assists. She fed Rachel Lamica (15 kills) and Courtney Collins (15 kills) to lead the offense.

 

Senior outside hitter Allison Clark provide yet another strong night for the Trailblazers. Clark notched 18 kills and 12 digs to complete the double-double. Beatrice Lechler added 23 assists while Tessa Sestito added 15. Rebecca Godbout also had a double double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Sam Anderson also had seven digs for MCLA.

 

The Trailblazers will continue their homestand this weekend when they host a tri-match this weekend starting at noon in the Amsler Campus Center Gym. MCLA will face Johnson State at and Wells College.
