MONTPELIER, Vt. -- The North Adams SteepleCats Tuesday won their fourth straight game and improved to 4-0 this season against Vermont with a 10-0 victory in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.

The SteepleCats offense hit on all cylinders throughout the game recording a total of 15 hits on the night. The ‘Cats (22-18) jumped out to the early lead with two runs in the top of the second inning. The ‘Cats then added a run in the fourth and four more in the fifth. It was a fifth inning where the ‘Cats recorded six base hits, all singles.

The big bright spot on the SteepleCats offense was C.J. Price, who recorded a total of four hits.  He scored three runs and had three RBIs. All nine SteepleCat starters recorded at least one base hit on the night.

Ben Olson pitched perhaps his best game of the year in his start for the SteepleCats. He did not allow a hit through five shutout innings pitched and struck out three. The ‘Cats bullpen continued their dominance with Josh Simpson throwing scoreless innings in the sixth and seventh.  Andrew Camiolo and Jared Habershaw each added a scoreless inning to complete the shutout victory.

After a pair of days off, the SteepleCats will be back in action Friday evening against the Sanford Mainers at Goodall Park.
