NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The North Adams SteepleCats scored four in the first inning en route to a 9-4 win over the Ocean State Waves on Monday at Joe Wolfe Field.
Five different ‘Cats players recorded multiple hits in the game and three of those players recorded three hits on the night.
After eight bullpen appearances to start the season, Jack Rupe made his first start on the mound for the ‘Cats (21-18) and pitched well. He gave up just one run off of three hits and struck out two through four innings. Mount Greylock alumnus Robbie Buffis pitched a pair of innings in relief. He also gave up one run and struck out two. Andrew Camiolo and Logan Austin each pitched a scoreless inning.
The SteepleCats will be back in action Tuesday night against in Montpelier, Vt., against the Vermont Mountaineers (17-19).
