HARTFORD, Vt. -- The Upper Valley Nighthawks beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 10-3, on Friday in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

The Nighthawks (10-14) swung the bats well right from the start and did not look back.  They scored a runs in the first and third innings on a pair of sacrifice flies by Trent Leimkuehler to go up 2-0. They enjoyed a four-run inning in the fourth to blow the game open and know SteepleCats starter Robbie Buffis out of the game. Buffis finished going three and a third innings allowing five runs. The Nighthawks enjoyed another four-run inning in the seventh to make it 10-1.

After a day off on Saturday, the SteepleCats (13-12) will return to action on Sunday against the Winnipesaukee Muskrats at Robbie Mills Field for the fourth game of their five-game road trip.
