NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Framingham State baseball team homered three times in the top of the seventh inning to overpower MCLA 7-2 in the opening game of a twinbill played at the New England Baseball Complex.
Framingham State's Jonathan Chapman and Ryan Wardwell launched back to back home runs in the top of the seventh breaking a 2-2 tie, and Kyle Pileski drilled a three run shot for some breathing room.
Starting pitcher Zach Kirby made it stand as the Rams as he struck out 12 Trailblazers and set them down 1-2-3 in the seventh. The game was moved to this location due to unplayable field conditions at MCLA.
MCLA drops to 3-12 on the season (0-3 MASCAC), while the Rams are now 1-2 in conference play and 5-12 overall prior to starting game two of the twinbill.
