NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — MCLA's Natalie Caney scored with 33 seconds left to send the game to overtime, and Erin McNulty netted the game winner, lifting the Trailblazers past Southern Vermont, 14-13, at Shewcraft Field on Wednesday.

The final score was the only time MCLA led in the contest as they improve their record to 3-4.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Bennington, Vt., but was moved south due to unplayable field conditions.

With 15:49 left in the second half, SVC's Mel Orrell converted a free position shot giving the Mountaineers a 12-9 advantage. From there, MCLA outscored the visitors, 4-1, to send the game into OT. The run was started when Caney scored an unassisted goal with 11:51 left and when Taylor Brewer scored with 6:30 remaining, it was 12-11 in favor of Southern Vermont.

Orrell connected again to give the Mountaineers breathing room with 5:12 left to play, however MacKenzie Cutler scored on another free position attempt to bring MCLA within a goal, setting the stage for Caney's heroics.

The junior picked up a turnover deep in the SVC end and go coast to coast. She beat SVC keeper Sydnee Julian in the upper left corner with just 33 seconds left tying the game at 13. SVC had two chances to win it after controlling the draw, but Zoe Elwell kept them off the board sending the game into OT.

In the extra session, SVC held the early possession until MCLA would force a turnover.  Caney fed a cutting McNulty and she would toss it past Julian completing the comeback win for MCLA under the sudden death overtime rules.

Hoosac Valley graduate Emily Lesure scored four goals for SVC.

MCLA is back in action when it hosts Framingham State on Saturday in MASCAC play.  The Mountaineers also will be in action traveling to NECC foe Mitchell College.
