CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The North Adams seventh- and eighth-grade girls travel basketball team won the B Division of the Ed Szlats Memorial Tournament last weekend with a victory over the Golden Knights of Great Barrington.

North Adams went undefeated in its four-team pool to advance to the semi-finals against Bethesda Lutheran. Using its speed and full court press, North Adams ran past the bigger Bethesda team, 48-21.

The Golden Knights came into the final with momentum after just coming from behind to beat East Greenbush, N.Y., in the semis.

Great Barrington took a 16-4 lead, but North Adams led by three points at half-time before emerging with a 64-50 win.
