Williams College and MCLA are planning celebrations this month in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
The Williams event will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, from noon to 3 p.m.
Girls in grades kindergarten through 6 are invited to attend and learn about volleyball, softball, lacrosse and soccer from Williams student-athletes.
The eighth annual free event will be held at the college's Towne Field House and will be followed by a women's hockey game at 3 p.m. against NESCAC foe Bowdoin.
MCLA will hold its 26th annual NGWSD celebration on Saturday, Jan. 30.
Girls in grades 3 to 8 and women of all ages are invited to participate in free sports clinics from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Lunch will be served free of charge for the girls; a nominal fee will charged to women for the lunch.
After lunch, attendees can take in a women's basketball game between the Trailblazers and Worcester State at 1 p.m., followed by an autograph session with the women's basketball team.
