To the Editor:

To all the residents of North Adams, whether you live in community housing, own your home, rent, or share quarters ... If you are registered to vote, please do so on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This election is not just about the two men running for the same office, it’s about one man who claims to not be running against our current mayor, but who continues to argue of his past wrongs and wants his "corner" back. He wronged and won't even face up to it, won't apologize, just turns the blame onto someone else.

On Tuesday, please make time to get out and vote, vote for a man who is honest, sincere, trustworthy, and yet strong. He makes himself heard when necessary but not in a mean way.

He is the right person to continue North Adams moving forward, he wants this city to succeed, has he raised taxes, added a sewer fee to our water bills, yes, but these funds are nThis election send a message that the taxpayers have had enough. ecessary to move the city forward. Our services cost and we need to help! Our mayor has added new businesses to North Adams, even the Dollar Tree, which no matter if you have a good income or not, shops there, I would bet they wouldn't have been allowed to open, especially downtown if the former mayor had his say.

Does anyone who supports the other candidate think for one minute, he will lower taxes, or never raise them, do you think he can end the crime and drug rates we are facing, do you think he has the power to restore the hospital (unless he is funding it himself)? These are questions you need to have answered and, hopefully, you will see why so many have chosen to keep Mayor Dick Alcombright in the corner office.

Six years ago, Mayor Dick Alcombright won the election against a man who sat in that office for 26 years. Do you really think he should be given another chance?

Answer is to vote for Mayor Dick Alcombright.
