PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Children and Families will host an open house for its newly established Family Resource Center at 480 West St. on Friday, June 5, from 3:30 to 5.

The center will be a single point of entry for family members to access family support services. Any family member will be able to walk into the FRC and receive assistance with any human services-related issue. If services cannot be provided to a family member onsite, staff will provide information and referrals to a network of service providers affiliated with the FRC.

The center will serve as an opportunity to integrate BCF's family support services and expand upon the good work that is already being done in Berkshire County by community members, public and private organizations, and businesses to implement primary prevention efforts.

Remarks will be made by Paul Fitzsimmons, acting deputy commissioner of the state Department of Children and Families and Judge Joan M. McMenemy, first justice of Berkshire Juvenile Court. There will be a brief performance by Berkshire Children and Families' Kids 4 Harmony. The public is invited to attend.

The Family Resource Centers of Massachusetts encompass a statewide network providing community-based, multicultural parenting programs, support groups, early childhood services, information and referral resources and education for families whose children range in age from birth to 18.
