SALEM, Mass. -- Kelsey Russell's hat trick helped the Salem State women's lacrosse team on Saturday cruise to a 14-5 win over the Trailblazers of MCLA.

 

The victory puts the Vikings at 2-5 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference and 7-8 on the season. MCLA fell to 0-7 in the conference while dropping to 4-9 on the year.

 

SOFTBALL

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Worceser State softball team swept MCLA on Saturday by scores of 3-0 and 1-0.

 

The wins gave Worcester State (21-9, 11-3 MASCCAC) a regular-season conference title and cost the Trailblazers a chance to finish in the top spot themselves.

 

MCLA (11-17, 8-4) hosts Salem State on Sunday for a 1 p.m. double-header and a chance to wrap up second-place in the league and a home game in next week's MASCAC playoffs.

 

BASEBALL

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The MCLA baseball team was eliminated from MASCAC playoff contention on Saturday after being swept in a double-header by Worcester State by scores of 6-2 and 10-0.

 

MCLA travels to Mass Maritime on Sunday.
