MCLA Women's Lax Falls in Home Finale09:32PM / Wednesday, April 22, 2015 | |
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The MCLA lacrosse team wrapped up its home schedule with a 19-7 loss to Fitchburg State on Wednesday.
The game was relatively close in the first half as a Rebecca Pike goal with seven minutes to go in the first half cut the Falcon lead to 4-3.
Fitchburg jumped out 2-0 on goals by Andrea Comeau and Ali Laferriere just four minutes into the game. The Trailblazers (4-8, 0-6) would respond as Natalie Caney and Pike scored back to back, the latter coming off a feed from Caney to a cutting Pike.
The Falcons started to control the play at the end of the half and a Samantha Bontempo goal took Fitchburg into the break with a 7-4 lead.
The Falcons (13-3, 4-2) seemed to adjust to the rainy conditions better, as they carried the play throughout the second half.
MCLA will play its final game of the season Saturday night at Salem State.
